- Doors with or without visible hinges that come in various sizes (up to 4.1″ or 105 mm)
- Invisible spacer for impeccable esthetics
- Frame and sash geometry compatible with visible and invisible hinges
- The ideal solution for creating large windows that open
Operation:

Turn the handle upwards, and the upper part of the sash tilts slightly to allow safe and easy ventilation. The opening cannot exceed 4″ (130 mm) and the window remains open for as long as you like, without the wind ever causing it to slam shut.
Want to ventilate your room thoroughly or open your window as wide as possible to circulate freely indoors and out? Simply turn the handle to the horizontal position, and the sash hinges on the side to offer a larger opening.
Turn the handle down, and the tilt-and-turn window will be hermetically sealed. No air leakage, no way for burglars to get in.
These windows feature:
- 3 ¼” (82.5 mm) PVC frame
- 2.5 mm exterior walls and interior walls among the thickest on the market, for maximum insulation and durability
- multichamber structure (17 chambers in the frame, 13 in the sash) to meet the most stringent performance and energy efficiency standards
- Continuous double weatherstripping with polymer compression seals to eliminate air and water infiltration
- Steel reinforcements in the key parts of the frame, sash, and mullion can easily accommodate all sizes
- optimized drainage thanks to a pressure balance system and ideally positioned drainage cap
- Sashes designed to hold and support glass up to 1 ¾” (44.5 mm) thick
- Door compatible with even the thickest flooring [1.7″ (43 mm) clearance]
- Hardware anchored solidly with steel reinforcements for enhanced durability
- multipoint locking system around the entire perimeter for perfect soundproofing and optimum security and airtightness
- optional aluminum sill extension for door configurations12Spring-loaded screens seamlessly incorporated into the window, for sleek architectural styling

FAQs
1. How does a tilt and turn window work?
A tilt and turn window has two operating modes controlled by one handle. Horizontal handle position: the sash swings fully inward from a side hinge for full ventilation and inside cleaning access. Upward handle position: the top of the sash tilts inward by a maximum of 4 inches for safe background ventilation the opening is too small for entry and the multi-point lock stays engaged. Downward handle position: the window is hermetically sealed with the perimeter locking system fully engaged. The tilt position is useful for leaving the window ventilating while you are away. Compare EuroTwist tilt-and-turn with traditional slider windows, or see the matching EuroTwist tilt-and-turn doors for a unified look.
2. What are the key specifications of the EuroTwist tilt and turn window?
The EuroTwist features a 17-chamber frame structure (13 chambers in the sash), 2.5mm exterior and interior walls among the thickest on the market and a multi-point perimeter locking system engaging at 6 to 8 points simultaneously. The sash accommodates glass up to 1¾” (44.5mm) thick for triple-glazing upgrades. Steel reinforcements in frame, sash, and mullion handle all sizes without deflection. Download the EuroTwist brochure for full technical data, or see Roto Hardware the multi-point locking system supplier.
3. Can EuroTwist windows be cleaned from inside the building?
Yes this is the primary reason EuroTwist windows are specified for high-rise condos, strata buildings, and multi-storey homes in Metro Vancouver. When the handle is turned to the horizontal position, the sash swings fully inward, exposing both glass surfaces for cleaning from inside eliminating external window cleaning costs on upper floors. This is particularly relevant for strata buildings in Richmond, Burnaby, North Vancouver, and Downtown Vancouver. Contact us for a strata consultation.
4. What is the difference between EuroTwist tilt and turn and casement windows?
Casement windows swing outward from a side hinge ideal for single-storey homes where external projection is acceptable. Tilt-and-turn windows open inward essential for high-rise and strata buildings where external projection isn’t possible. In energy performance, both are compression-seal systems that outperform sliders. The EuroTwist 17-chamber frame and multi-point perimeter locking makes it slightly superior to the Boréal casement series in air infiltration performance, but at 30–40% higher cost per window. For primary living areas in condos and high-rise buildings, EuroTwist is the standard recommendation. See our window style guide for BC homeowners for room-by-room guidance.
5. Are EuroTwist tilt and turn windows ENERGY STAR certified?
Yes. EuroTwist achieves ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certification. With triple-glazing packages, the 17-chamber frame enables U-factors of 0.18–0.22 W/m²K meeting BC Energy Step Code Step 4 requirements for new construction in Metro Vancouver. Read about our ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certification. See the BC Energy Step Code guide for homeowners for Step 4 compliance details, or Passive House window requirements in BC for high-performance build specifications.
6. Do EuroTwist tilt and turn windows qualify for CleanBC rebates?
Yes. EuroTwist is ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certified, qualifying for the maximum CleanBC rebate tier up to $9,500 for eligible Metro Vancouver homeowners. For strata buildings undertaking full building replacements, the rebate calculations can be significant. See our full BC rebate guide or contact our trade team for multi-unit project guidance.
7. Is EuroTwist suitable for Passive House construction in BC?
Yes. EuroTwist with triple-glazing achieves whole-window U-values well within Passive House requirements (≤0.80 W/m²K metric). The multi-point perimeter compression seal delivers measured airtightness of 0.5–1.0 ACH@50Pa compatible with the ≤1.5 ACH@50Pa Passive House threshold. Read our Passive House 101 guide for BC for full window requirement specifications, and see NAFS certification details for performance rating documentation.
8. Can EuroTwist windows be left open for ventilation when no one is home?
Yes. In the tilt position, the sash opens a maximum of 4 inches providing continuous background ventilation while being too small for entry. The multi-point lock stays engaged in tilt mode. This is particularly valuable in Metro Vancouver’s humid climate where overnight ventilation reduces condensation and mould risk. Learn how air-tight windows and proper ventilation work together in Vancouver, or see the full advantages of tilt turn windows.
9. How does the EuroTwist multi-point locking system work?
The multi-point system, supplied by Roto Hardware, secures the sash at 6 to 8 points around the entire perimeter simultaneously with one handle turn. The fully locked (downward) position engages bolts at top, bottom, and both sides creating a hermetically sealed closure that is dramatically more difficult to force than single-point slider latches. Independent laboratory testing verifies the highest ratings in national classification tests for security and airtightness. See our safety, security & durability page for the full security specification.
